Overview

Hard times. Unlivable times. Terrorism, genetic manipulation, collapsing of the family nucleus but, what anguished them the most, was the total loss of the faith that people had in the institutions of the Church.

Cardinals Giacomo Soffiantini and Massimo Ulivieri were sitting in the Blue Library:

"What can we do, Massimo?" asked Soffiantini.

"I don't know anymore where to bang my head!" answered Ulivieri. "I've always had an answer for everything, but this time, my dear Giacomo, I've reached my limit!"

Better not to say anything but this was the problem: for too long, no one had spoken directly to the hearts of the people.
