Gold Medals Won at the Paris Olympics

Gold Medals Won at the Last Olympics Games in Paris

There is something really wrong in the way States are represented at the Olympics Games.

A Continent like the USA with more than 300 million inhabitants and more than 50 States, is counted as ONE!!!

Just as an example, Italy is roughly big as California and almost the same inhabitants!!!

So, the States of USA should be represented at the Games, individually not as a Continent!!!

They keep saying that they won 40 Gold Medals in Paris, but the medals were won by athletes from more than 50 American States individually, big (or bigger!!!) as many European States!!!!

If We Put Together the European Gold Medals

If we put together the Gold Medals won by France, Germany, Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Portugal and so on, we'll see that the European States together won many more Gold Medals!!!

CountryGold Medals
France16
Netherlands15
Great Britain14
Italy12
Germany12
Hungary6
Spain5
Sweden4
Belgium3
Poland1
Denmark2
Norway4
Switzerland1
Greece1
Ireland4
Austria2
Portugal1
TOTAL103

Which is much more than the 40 of USA!!!

And I didn't count the considered Eastern European States as Uzbekistan (8), Ukraine (3), Bulgaria (3), Croatia (2), Azerbaijan (2), Czech Republic (3) and many more. Let's just say more than 30 more.

That total is more than 130 which is the triple of the 40 Gold Medals won by USA!!!!

Conclusion

I think that it is time to stop the trick of counting all the American States as if the USA (Nation) is a Nation like France or England or, let's begin to count the United Nations of Europe as a Nation as is the USA, and then will see who will win more gold medals for…….REAL!!!!!
