An Unconvential and Original Ball

When Jessica and myself were a little younger, we traveled a lot because, we missed very much to live close to the most beautiful beaches in the world: Emerald Coast in Sardinia!!!

So, Baja California, Saint Croix, Yucatan peninsula and so on, were our favorite destinations. Even a few beaches in Ireland had their different fascination.

And, being beach combers, we always brought home some "souvenirs" in the form of little stones, shells and little pieces of glass or wood.

Not traveling anymore, I needed to find a permanent solution to expose our travel memories.

Being a decent ex soccer player, I always had numerous soccer balls in the house, until Jessica said: "if you bring home one more soccer ball, you'll be out with all of them!!!" Probably she was joking but, in doubt, I got rid of all of them (I donated to youth teams) apart from the one I used to create this:

The little stones, the shells and glass pieces are from everywhere. Only the flat and elongated grey stones are from the beaches of Ireland.

In case you go there, the peculiar characteristic of the beaches in Ireland, is the speed in which the high tide comes in. When you arrive early in the morning at the beach, the shore is very far away ( 500/600 feet) but, when the tide begins to kick in, in less than 1 hour the water will arrive at the parking lot so, run back and collect you stuff as fast as possible !!!! ☺
