The Philosophers of Our Time

News channels on TV are clearly aligned with a political current so, don't expect impartiality from them. Same with top political commentators on newspapers.

So, who can tell us something that represents what is happening for real without distortions or agendas???

A long time ago there were philosophers but now, those figures still exist and have evolved into what we call... COMEDIANS!!!!

The King: George Carlin

In my opinion, the king of them all, the one that set the standard was: George Carlin!!! He left us a long time ago but the memories are unchanged!!!!

Politics: Bill Maher, Lewis Black, and Colin Quinn

Here are the ones that I love most, divided by categories:

The entire Colin Quinn show is really something and represents the times in which we live!!!!

Surreal & Life Style

Eddie Izzard

When I first arrived in the US, my English speaking was only this: "today is a very beautiful day. Not too hot, not too cold, just right". That was it!!! You can imagine that it was impossible for me to enjoy a comedy show!!! Too bad because, in 1999 Izzard was performing in San Francisco, "Dress to Kill" that, in my opinion, is his best ever!!! Gags like... Cake or Death? Or... Do you have a flag??? are printed in my brain!!!

So, if you'd like to see it, this is the entire show:

This is "Do you have a flag?":

And "Cake or Death":

Trevor Noah

He came from South Africa and his best piece, for me, is in the show "Afraid Of The Dark" "the British took over India":

10 minutes of him:

Jerry Seinfeld

He has the gift of acting as a mirror by showing us all, the way we are!!!!

Ricky Gervais

Even if sometimes, in my opinion, he is a little too strong in his monologues, in general I like him very much.

He also made a few movies. These 2 are the ones I liked most, because they are full of meaning:

"The Invention of Lying"

"Ghost Town"

Mike Birbiglia

This is one of my favorite sketches in What I Should Have Said Was Nothing: Baseball Gone Wrong
