We Deeply Overestimate the Importance of Our Existence!!!
Our planet is four and a half billion years old. To be more precise, it's 4.543 billion years old!!!!
Our modern existence is, not counting the prehistory evolution from apes, just a few thousands of years and, forgetting the first few millenniums but just considering the Real Modern Era, it's just a few hundreds of years!!!
The Absurd Truth
The simple fact of just thinking that in some way we can do something to change the destiny of our Planet is simply ridiculously absurd!!!
Compared to the entire existence of our planet, 4.5 BILLION years, basically we are here from yesterday morning and in a couple of days, we'll be gone!!!!
So, please, let's stop talking about what we can do to fight global warming, because we simply... CAN'T!!!
The Climate Cycle
The warming, in general, is part of a mechanism that, through the millions of years in the past (not billions because we couldn't even get the immensity of this kind of time!!!) it already happened endlessly and it's a normal cycle of the climate of our planet!!!!
Sure, during the Industrial Age, we did our part by filling up the atmosphere with CO2 and smog so the temperature rising is in part our fault but, the damage is done and we, as individuals, don't have the 'power' to in some way... fix it!!!!!
Only Governments can and, considering the volatility of 'political power', there is no way that they will do something to save our planet or, at least, reverse the tendency.
In synthesis, we are... well, you know!!!!
Understanding Ice Ages
By the way, we have a completely wrong idea about the concept of ICE AGE.
Our planet, through the millions of years, already had long periods of super cold climate, basically an ice snow ball, and periods of super heat that transformed it in a water world with no emerged lands. During the periods of Ice Ages, the ice advances and retreats in periods of hundreds of thousands of years.
These phases are called GLACIATIONS and they happen DURING an Ice Age!!!!
So, we're in an Ice Age for the simple reason that there is... ICE!!!!
Of course, the ice can come and go back, as is happening now, but that is normal and we CAN'T stop this because it's unstoppable and is absolutely... NORMAL!!!!
Our Place in the Universe
Whatever we do, or just DREAM that we can do something to slow down the process, it's just that, a dream that we have the luxury of dreaming about in our short passing by, while the Universe keeps going through the BILLIONS of years ahead in its endless evolving, independently of us who are just less than a grain of sand in the... desert!!!!
So, relax, and enjoy existing the best you can in our ephemeral passing by, maybe for a few more centuries, before the human race, finally, will inevitably disappear.
After We're Gone
The really sad thing is that, after we are gone, the planet will probably not easily go back to what it was before our damage.
Unfortunately, without our control of all the industries, the nuclear plants, the airplanes, the big boats for passengers and the biggest ones for the containers, plus all the 'damn' cars in the immense metropolises, the mountain of garbage that we create daily, will contaminate the environment in an irremediable way so the vegetation and all living creatures, in the air, the water and land, will have to fight hard to win that not easy battle, but I'm confident that they will be able to win it!!!
Without our 'apparent' control, it will be a kind of Chernobyl multiplied by hundreds but, as always happens in the end... LIFE will win!!!!
And this time, fortunately, it will be won by the good ones, not us!!!
